While Charlie Sheen Wins, Jon Cryer Interns for Ellen DeGeneres

With some extra time on his hands, Jon Cryer started a new job yesterday: interning for Ellen DeGeneres.

The Two and a Half Men star stars in a short clip released by the show, in which Cryer answers phones for Ellen and mans the front desk.

"I needed the work," he explains.

It's the first time Cryer has, however obliquely, commented on Charlie Sheen's very public meltdown, which has seen the hit CBS sitcom canceled for the remainder of the season, and the show's future itself highly in question.

Charlie Sheen Assails 'Two And A Half Men' Creator Chuck Lorre With Insults & Curses

Yep, things between Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen and creator Chuck Lorre just got a lot worse. Following his verbal assault on Lorre, whom he calls by his "real name Chaim Levine", in a radio interview this morning, Sheen went way further in a TMZ interview this afternoon. "I violently hate Haim Levine," Sheen said in what is probably the harshest statement by a series star about their showrunner. "He's a stupid, stupid little man and a p**sy punk that I'd never want to be like. That's me being polite. That piece of s**t took money out of my pocket, my family's pocket, and, most importantly, my second family -- my crew's pocket... You can tell him one thing.  I own him." He proceeded to challenge Lorre to a fight. "If he wins, then he can leave MY show, Sheen said.

PREVIOUS: When we thought Charlie Sheen's planned reunion with the cast and crew of Two and a Half Men next week could not get more awkward, it just did. In another surreal, rambling live radio interview, this time on the Alex Jones Show, Sheen unleashed a tirade at Men creator-executive producer Chuck Lorre over Lorre's recent tongue-in-cheek vanity card at the conclusion of the show's most recent original that ended with "If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."

"That's one of few compliments that clown has paid me in freaking almost a decade," Sheen said in the interview posted on TMZ. He referred to Lorre by his "real name, Chaim Levine." "Chaim, last time I checked, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold." He also called Lorre a "charlatan," challenging him with "You've been warned dude, bring it."

In the bizarre interview, Sheen offered Jones' much stronger proof that he is "100% clean" that the host probably bargained for: "Here's your first pee test, next one goes in your mouth. No, you won't get high." Sheen also claimed he cured his drug problems with his mind.

But among ramblings about trolls, Bible grippers and Vatican assassins, one line stood out, a quote from Apocalypse Now: "You do have the right to kill me but do not have the right to judge me."

Lorre and Warner Bros. TV, which produces Men had no comment. For now, the show is scheduled to return to production next week for 4 more episodes. Both the show and Sheen have one more year on their deals.
