Stepping out for a night on the red carpet, Katherine Heigl was among the early arrivals at the 2010 Country Music Awards on Wednesday (November 10).

The “27 Dresses” actress looked gorgeous as she sauntered down the red carpet at Bridgestone Arena, stopping along the way to share a tender moment with husband Josh Kelley.
 


Set to take the stage during the show for performances are a bevy of big names including Gywneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, just to name a few.

Meanwhile, the show is once again being co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood - marking the third year-in-a-row the duo have helmed the growingly popular country showcase.

She’s settled into her role as mother to her adorable adopted daughter Naleigh, and Katherine Heigl couldn’t be happier.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” babe appears on the cover of the December issue of W magazine along with her 22-month old girl, and in the accompanying interview, she explains how well everything has worked out.



Katherine shared that her role in “Life as We Know It” was well-timed with her adoption. "I was about to play a woman who inherits a baby, and I was experiencing the exact same thing.”

And so far motherhood has changed Ms. Heigl for the better. "You have this empathy suddenly – this compassion for a mother going through anything complicated or difficult with a child. It's something that I understand now – that unbelievable drive and instinct to protect."

Katherine Heigl 'struggles to find balance'

Katherine Heigl has admitted that she still struggles to balance her career with the demands of motherhood.

The actress - who adopted daughter Naleigh from South Korea in 2009 - confessed that she often worries that she will "spread [herself] too thin" from trying to do everything.

"Most of [filming] Life As We Know It is a complete blur. I had just become a mum," she told Redbook.

"I still don't necessarily always know what I am doing, and I certainly didn't then... I was all over the place. I was really trying too hard. I was completely bonkers."

She added: "If I spread myself too thin, I'm not a good actor, I'm not a good mother, and I'm just really high-strung - and everybody hates me."

Heigl recently said that she has become a "pro" at changing diapers.

Katherine Marie Heigl is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC's Grey's Anatomy and her starring role in the movies Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, and The Ugly Truth. She recently starred in Killers as the lead role with Ashton Kutcher.

Heigl started her career as a child model with Wilhelmina Models before she turned her attention to acting. She made her debut in the coming-of-age film, That Night. Heigl co-starred as Isabel Evans in the television series Roswell and movies including My Father the Hero before landing her break out role in Grey's Anatomy. Over the years, Heigl has established herself as a cover model appearing on numerous publications including Maxim, Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan.

Katherine Heigl 'doesn't watch Grey's'

Katherine Heigl has said that she can no longer watch Grey's Anatomy.

In an interview on The David Letterman Show, the actress described the feeling as "bittersweet", and said that she stopped watching after she left the series last November.

"I really did like my job and I really loved the people I worked with," she said. "It was very sort of safe and comfortable... Now I'm a bit adrift.

"I felt like I was missing the party, it was weird... I actually get a little bit jealous about Alex sleeping with other women. I think that's really inappropriate."

The 30-year-old actress loved showing off her toned curves on dates before she decided to settle down and marry Josh Kelley.

She said: "I tried it all in my 20s. I wore short skirts, shirts with plunging neckline, push-up bras and high heels.

"I find a sexy outfit OK on the first date - even on the second and third. But if you've the fourth date and it's still only about appearance and being a sex-bomb something must be wrong."
Although Katherine loves dressing up and making an effort for her musician spouse, the blonde beauty insists Josh loves her just as much when she is wearing workout clothes.
The '27 Dresses' star explained to German magazine Joy: "I thought to myself, 'How long do I want to play this game?' You shouldn't pretend to be someone else because you fear losing a guy.
"I don't want a partner who finds me unattractive in a jogging suit and ponytail. Either he likes me just as I am or not!"
